• I joined the team because: "UC Merced is a leader in science communication, as evidenced by our new Environmental Humanities (EH) program, the first of its kind in the University of California system. I am proud that this interdisciplinary team combines technological innovation with communication and outreach. I look forward to helping narrate the story of our team's project as we build a robot to help thin forests, a key step in wildfire prevention. California's indigenous communities have practiced fuel thinning for millennia, and I'm excited to see how we can bridge Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and technology through this collaboration."
